Mirando adiante (looking ahead) ;·)

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a land crossed by the river Ulla, lived a young and intelligent piper called Gerardo (“o jaiteiriño”). He was famous among the locals for his generous heart and gentle smile. His music filled the air with sounds of an ancient Celtic tribe which long ago fought to be remembered. Mountains, valleys and fields seemed to melt into a deep green ocean to let the traveller be drifted away as in a calm and soothing dream. This was a land of glory, a land of faith … a land of love. This is the story of a man who challenged destiny to be with the love of his life…

January 16th. It’s almost 9 am. The voice coming out of the loudspeaker reminds him that this is the beginning of a new life for him. Soon he will be landing in a different country, full of foreign people, leaving behind his family and friends, his band and those wonderful “empanadas” that he loved so much. However, he knows he is taking the right decision. His heart tells him so and so does his mind. Still, he can’t help thinking about what kind of surprises the future may have prepared for him while a cold shiver runs down his spine.

And, now, the story continues. I was thinking in it but, finally, I am not going to continue the written story in English. At least, most of the written story will be in Galician because is a story that I am going to write for the people who cares about me, to make them smile and to let them know that I am OK.

Vamos. Que isto o vou a escribir maiormente en galego porque o escribo para ti. Para que te rías un pouco e saibas que estou ben.

Apertas.

Gerardo

PS: thanks a lot (a lot a lot) to my dear friend Marta for her wonderful and friendly little story. I hope I am able to continue it with at least the same quality.
